Xenopus (genus)

There are 20 species of Xenopus frog and they all live in Sub-Saharan Africa. Xenopus are slippery frogs. X.laevis have been introduced to the USA and the UK. Xenopus is a genus of clawed frogs. The Xenopus in this picture is X.laevis, The African Clawed Frog. An Endangered species of Xenopus is X.longpipes, the Lake Oku Clawed Frog. The African Clawed frog is sometimes mislabled as "African Dwarf Frog" in petstores.

Territory: Sub-Saharan Africa, introduced to the UK and US.

Food: Scavengers; anything they can find
