Avocet  Genus: Recurvirostra

With the many 4 species of avocet, Matthew's animals show 4/4. The 1st Recurvirostra is the Andean avocet wich is found in various parts of South America.

It is white with dark brown back, wigs and tail followed with a pair of slightly black legs. Another Recurvirostra is the Red-Necked Avocet, found in Australia.

The American avocet has an orange head, white body and black legs, leaving the most well Recurvirostra is the Pied avocet, found in Europe, Africa and Asia.


Territory: Europe, Africa, Asia, America, Australia.

Diet: Insects, fish, crustaceans.
